Dr. Pat Collins of the Michigan Department of Transportation will speak at the Job Seeker Support Group Monday, Sept. 8; 10:15 a.m. Dr. Collins will talk about opportunties for women to "earn and learn" various aspects of the construction trade. This is a great opportunity for girls and women to break into the construction trades, earn good wages and jump start a career in a non-traditional field.

Caregivers Group, Mondays from 1:00- 2:30 Accepting new members. This group is designed for women caring for a loved one with a long term or terminal illness. Pre-registration is required.

Not So Happy Endings, Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Accepting new members. Pre-registration required

Sexual Assault Survivor's Group NEW TIME. Tuesdays, 11:00 am to 12:30pm starting September 9, and Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:45 pm and 8:00 - 10:00 pm. Accepting new members.

Ann Nebe of OFFICETEAM will speak to the Job Seeker Support Group. Monday, Sept. 15; 10:15 a.m. The focus of Ann's talk will be working with temporary agencies.

We are still looking for a couple of good painters, we need to finish a couple of small painting jobs in both buildings.

Six week series. September 20. Groups meet every other Saturday.

Back by popular demand! Based on the book "Assertiveness for Women," this series focuses on understanding your assertiveness type and how to practice positive assertion in your life. Discussion format allows for individual practice and exploration of situations that occur in personal and professional relationships. Co-facilitated by Julie Parks and Jennifer Meldrum, $10 per session, drop-ins are welcome.

Toward Freedom—A Writing Class to Reveal the Real You

Saturday, Sept. 13; 9 a.m.-Noon

Learn a writing method you can practice every day to gain a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the REAL you. This twenty minute meditative writing practice will awaken you to your individuality and, paradoxically, to your connection with others. Three-hour class, $45. Led by Janet Skole. A practical guide for any body with a body. Learn your health care rights, how to deal with insurance companies and doctors. Learn the importance of record keeping and what kinds of records you need to keep. Presenter, Cheryl Della Pia, ERISA, health care and employee benefits attorney. FREE.
